January 22 – 25, 2026 The Miners for Cancer Hockey Challenge was the first fundraising event for the group and has been an annual event since 1996. The event was renamed to the Miners for Cancer Allan Epps Memorial Hockey Challenge in memory of co-founder Allan Epps.

For 30 years, the Miners for Cancer Hockey Challenge has brought Northern Ontario together for one unforgettable reason — to support local families affected by cancer. What started as a grassroots tournament has grown into one of the region’s most meaningful volunteer-driven events, powered by community, industry, and heart.
